Class Details
In this unique class, students will explore the process of watercolor painting by capturing their favorite breakfast foods. The class begins with a brief introduction to watercolor techniques, including washes, layering, and blending, followed by a focus on how to render textures and colors typical of various breakfast foods—such as the vibrant hues of blueberries or the subtle gradients in waffles. Participants will set up their own breakfast still life (or work from one set up in the studio) and learn how to observe and paint from life, emphasizing light, shadow, and composition. This class encourages creativity and personal expression while allowing students to practice their watercolor skills in a relaxed, fun environment. By the end of the session, everyone will have a charming, unique watercolor painting that captures the essence of their morning meal. Materials, tools, and light breakfast refreshments (to eat and paint!) will be provided.
